DETAILS
In collaboration with Edinburgh artist Mairi Helena, Tern Of The Tides is printed on a fine cotton encasing our unique cashmere guard hair and wool natural fibre. The inner fabric is a natural organic cotton, leaving the coat super soft, designed to keep the wearer warm at home. Expertly quilted in Yorkshire, this limited edition piece reflects our love of nature.
The versatile housecoat with an A line silhouette is quilted with three layers of natural materials. A printed cotton on the top with contrasting lining encasing our special fibre of cashmere guard hair and wool, helping to keep the wearer warm without overheating.
This special garment has been skillfully hand cut and finished by Self Made Studios, a community interest company in Bishop Auckland, Co Durham. The unique features of the Cocoon Coat are the long A line shape allowing for freedom of movement, deep curved pockets, adjustable sleeve lengths, high neck collar keeping draughts out and unique fold up front avoiding tripping on stairs.

The Cocoon Coat is a unisex garment with buttons, as tradition would have it, from left to right. The ‘A’ line shape of the garment drapes on the body from the shoulders. The chest sizes illustrated here are guidelines. The back neck to hem length of the coat is important when choosing your size. We have given height guidelines alongside the chest measurements.
Example: you may be a tall woman with a chest/bust of 36” X Xcm. We would guide you to ordering the Large. As a taller woman you probably have long limbs and broader shoulders. The fit across and around the shoulders helps the coat drape nicely and the length keeps you warm.
You may be a man with 46” chest and 6’5”. Your shoulder size will probably be similar to a 6’4” Man and thus the fit around the shoulders and across the back of the XL will be suitable.
If you are a woman with a 37” bust but 5’4” you may prefer to buy a medium knowing that the length is fairly long. You will see from some of the images that the front hem buttons back to aid walking up stairs and avoid exces length at the front. This can be unbuttoned when sitting and at rest.
